Should you have your senior shoot at the Portland Rose Garden?

This blog post will hopefully help you answer that! It’s truly one of my favorite summer locations to shoot at! So many of my seniors want flowers in their pictures and this is a perfect place to find them without having to rely on wildflower blooms. Below I’ll go over the pros vs. cons of having your shoot at the Rose Garden!

Address: 400 SW Kingston Ave, Portland, OR 97205

Bloom Schedule: Late June - October
(according to visitors)

Pros:

  • They don’t require an entrance or photographer fee like a lot of Portland gardens.

  • Not too busy during the week and it’s huge so you don’t run into that many people when you’re trying to take photos.

  • It’s gorgeous when it’s sunny, cloudy, or even raining!

  • Every color of flower you could dream of which makes it super easy to plan outfits.

  • Tons of available parking nearby.

  • Right next to Washington Park which makes a perfect 2nd location for your shoot! (check out these senior shoots for inspo)

Cons:

  • A semi popular place for senior photos which means you might see other seniors have their shoots there.

  • Not a ton of variety outside of the different colored roses.

If you love flowers and want a location local to the Portland area, the Rose Garden might be perfect!
